Loan Counseling When a borrower wishes to receive financial aid in the form of Direct Loans, the federal government requires that student to participate in loan counseling. This counseling has been made available online for your convenience. You will be required to complete Direct Loan Entrance counseling when you enter the financial aid program and you will be required to complete Direct Loan Exit counseling when you graduate or when you leave the loan program
The following are step-by-step instructions to the online completion of this requirement: Direct Loan Entrance Counseling: 1. Please go to www.studentloans.gov . 2. On the home page, Sign In using your FAFSA PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, click on the PIN site link under the Sign In box. 3. On the next page, select ' Entrance Counseling'. 4. Read the information and answer the questions and fill out your demographic information at the end. 5. Once you get to the confirmation page you are done. A report will automatically be sent to me. Direct Loan Exit Counseling: 1. Please go to the National Student Loan Data System www.nslds.ed.gov
2. Select Exit Counseling from Home page. 3. You will need your social security number, your birth date, driver’s license, and two personal references (full name, address, and phone number) You can do this at home and at any time. You can do this at home and at any time. |
