Military Chaplains
Chaplains in the US military who desire continued theological education through practical application and leadership development may apply to the Houston Graduate School of Theology Doctor of Ministry Program. Ordinarily, 12 credit hours are transferred into the DMin program from academic work gained through military service and training.
Whether active, reservist, or retired, military chaplains will benefit from pursuing this terminal degree. The diverse context of the DMin program is a familiar setting for military chaplains. The Christ-centered focus provides a refreshing experience with likeminded pastors and parachurch leaders. Through specializations in leadership, pastoral care, or spiritual direction and formation, chaplains will be prepared to apply theoretical learning to practical settings during current military assignments and following retirement from the military and transition into a local church context.
